Boreal Forest

In the face of climate change and the growing intensity of urban heat islands, finding solutions to mitigate these effects while reducing resource waste was more important than ever.

Instead of running continuously, our smart misting systems were designed for optimal energy efficiency, releasing mist only when needed.

Powered by human energy through dynamos, our misting systems allowed both children and adults to activate them, fostering awareness about the importance of energy, water, and nature, as well as the need to protect and conserve these precious resources.

Inspired by the boreal forest, the misting systems were composed of trees and plants native to this ecosystem, combating heat islands and simultaneously boosting urban biodiversity.

These mini boreal forests transported users, even for a brief moment, into a true forest experience—capturing the sounds, scents, and coolness of the tree canopy. The textures and colors immersed visitors in the sensation of being in a vibrant forest.

“Imagining the city of tomorrow means building a lasting strength within communities. With art and technology as our tools, we can enhance the lives of neighborhoods and make them more harmonious. It is vital to create gathering spaces where locals and visitors from around the world can come together and write new stories as one.” – Felix Marzell
