The Downtown Victoria Business Association (DVBA) is excited to announce the launch of a six-week public art activation aimed at enriching the vibrancy of the city’s core. In line with its mission to support and promote Victoria’s dynamic downtown business community, this interactive installation features four stationary bikes that light up, project artwork by local artist Jamin Zuroski, and play music when pedaled. This creates an engaging atmosphere both day and night.

After successful showcases in cities such as Hong Kong, Singapore, New York, Boston, Chicago, Phoenix, Milwaukee, and Seattle in 2024, Light Lane is now making its Canadian debut in Victoria. Created by LeMonde Studio, a Montreal/Austin-based collective known for its functional art, Light Lane aims to foster community dialogue and positivity.

Inspired by a passion for sustainability and culture, the installation invites visitors to pedal, creating a mesmerizing combination of music and projections that provides a unique experience every time. According to Nicolas Synnott, COO of LeMonde Studio, “We feel privileged to collaborate with talented artists like Jamin, using our technology as a bridge to connect our art, culture, and the local community.”

This installation encourages active community participation, transforming an ordinary sidewalk into a lively space filled with light and creativity. It underscores the DVBA’s commitment to enhancing the downtown experience for residents, visitors, and businesses alike, reinforcing downtown Victoria as a vibrant hub where innovation and community spirit converge. We hope you enjoy the experience!
